WORK HISTORY: 

             1993 - Present.   Professional Artist.  Work originally detailed wildlife using pencil.  Now creates whimsical, fluid, abstract 2-d and 3-d  sculpture using simple baling wire. Have exhibited widely throughout state of Oklahoma (residence for 25 years).  Now showing in and around the Boston area. Currently creating larger, site-specific sculptures on outdoor commission basis.

             2016 - 2018. Workshop Leader-Landscape Design Courses.  Churchill's Garden Center. Exeter, NH. 2013 - 2014. Teacher-Wire Sculpture.  The Eliot School.  Classes in Fine Arts and Crafts  Boston, MA.. 2013. Boston College of Art. Taught one semester as professional in sustainable landscape design. 2012. Teacher. Art classes at City Arts Center. Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. 

              1993 - 2017.  Owner-Operator of Landscape Design and Maintenance Company - ‘Native Landscapes’ in Norman, Oklahoma.    Design, installation and maintenance of both commercial and residential properties, with a focus on building sustainable, organic landscapes.

1998- Present.  Public Speaking.   On several topics related to sustainable concepts for landscape design and water conservation.
                                                                           
          1990 -1993.  Instructor. Sam Noble Museum of Natural History.    Taught outdoor science education classes for children.

  1989-1992.  The Nature Conservancy (TNC).  Both at Niobrara Preserve in Northern Nebraska and at Tallgrass Prairie preserve. Pawhuska, Oklahoma. Published on three-tiered ecological hierarchy theory.  Hired by TNC to compile management guidelines for prairie ecosystem management.  

             1981 - 1984.  Instructor. Fontenelle Forest Nature. Center. Bellevue, Nebraska.Taught outdoor science education classes for teachers, corporate groups, as well as nature talks for school-aged children.

SUSTAINABLE LANDSCAPE DESIGN – NOTABLE PROJECTS:

Trinity School.  Designed and installed both a sensory garden and raised vegetable gardens for this unique, private school for ADD and ADHD children.  Oklahoma City. 2012.

Ideal Homes.  Built rain gardens as well as native plantings for entryways on several new subdivisions.  Norman, Oklahoma City, Edmond, Oklahoma. 2007 – 2010.

James Yoch Garden Studios.  Organic treatments for all lawn areas, gardens. 2005 – 2012.
